STB039 This is a stunning rare Battle Of Adlertag 1940 collectors official limited edition first day cover hand signed by historic Knights Cross awarded WW2 German pilot Hajo Herrmann who has personally autographed the souvenir where his signature rests perfectly below the special commemorative frank. The autograph has been officially certified by the publishers with full hallmarking and authenticity of the series on the reverse further detailed with witness signature added for the signing (see image 2) limited to only 125 also detailed on reverse and in absolute brand new mint condition.

Herrmann flew 320 combat missions as a bomber pilot including 50 during the Spanish Civil War, sinking twelve ships of approximately 65,000 gross register tons of Allied shipping.According to Aders, Herrmann was credited with nine nocturnal aerial victories.[25] Foreman, Parry and Mathews, authors of Luftwaffe Night Fighter Claims 1939 – 1945, researched the German Federal Archives and found records for three nocturnal victory claims.[26] Mathews and Foreman also published Luftwaffe Aces — Biographies and Victory Claims, stating Herrmann claimed nine aerial victories.
