GC2 A real nostalgia postcard undated but modern origin of this earlier vintage 1977 issue of Tammy the famous 1970s comic for teenage girls (see below) showing the Tammy girls in a beauty contest with one crowned the Beauty Queen and all around her people reading Tammy magazine. Caption above reads "The Queen Of Girls Papers" !
Tammy was a British comic for girls from the 1970s which consisted of a collection of many small strips, with the stories themselves normally being three or four pages long. Its stories would concentrate on sad Cinderella themed stories and dark tales of tortured heroines. Tammy was a revolutionary publication in the 70s for its dark cruel romantic tales.
